Hello everyone, I had already started posting here and almost forgot to introduce myself! I always seem to end up here when I'm searching for info on my frogs, so much great info around here I just had to sign-up.
I currently own two White's Tree Frogs, they are still separated for the time being but will finally be put together in the next week once I finish my revamp for my main terrarium. I've really been enjoying making constant additions and improvements to my terrarium, seems like every month I'm re-building it. Just the terrarium building process has become a hobby of its own, a hobby which my frogs seem to really appreciate. My next build is going to include a false bottom, live plants, a rock wall, and a cork flat wall!
My current frogs are named David and Phyllis. David is my newest frog and when I first got him I realized there was something seriously wrong with him. I couldn't tell at the pet store because he was a chocolate brown color, but once I got him home he turned green and then I could see his belly/legs looked blistering red, his back legs kept twitching, scratching his nose against the wall, and had small dark spots that resembled ulcers. I researched all his symptoms with various sources, everything was pointing to a fungal infection. Luckily I found out about a recent method of treatment, the next day I started giving him daily baths in Lamisil spray mixed with water. Within a day or two the dark spots vanished & his skin became much more vibrant, it was nothing short of a miracle. I continued the treatment for a full week to ensure his health, it's been a month since then & the little guy is doing great! He's been croaking extra loud now, I'm sure he's trying to tell me to put him in with Phyllis!
Now I'm also planning on getting a Pacman frog to occupy my second tank once David moves in with Phyllis. Those little round guys are seriously fun to watch eat, I'm looking forward to that!
