    I guess the reason why darts aren't recommended to beginners is because they are a totally different ball game than the average frog that is available to your average person is. Proper nutrition is more critical in darts than in most other frogs and a beginner may not fully understand this. I know I have lost a lot of darts in the past from improper husbandry, but once I figured out what I was doing wrong, darts became very easy to keep.
    Also, with darts you do have to raise your own food and that may be to much for a beginner to deal with. I still have not perfected at it. I either have surplus or famine, hardly ever a decent middle ground. Another point, your average person does not have access to the resources needed to keep darts. The Petco and Petsmarts of the world are of no real help and neither are most ma & pop shops.
