Default WTF feeding and sleeping questions

while at the pet store last week the guy helping me said my little froggie (about a inch long) could eat big crickets. i'm thinking great cause the small ones are difficult for me to see and catch. he also told me a UVB light was absolutely needed which i learned from here it's not. sorry off topic. anyway wondering if my little frog can really have large crickets or even medium ones? I was feeding him every day but that was b4 I got cricket gut load (got that a week after I got him) then he started to get fat over his eyes (I forget what it's called but I know that was bad meaning he was eating too much) so I feed him every 3-4 days so twice a week. Is that too little for him? since he can't say hey i'm hungry LOL. slo is there a good time to feed him? like at night maybe or very early morning? yesterday when I feed him at 10 AM he looked like he was stalking a cricket to catch but he was still like that 2 hours later so I think he was not interested or I was thinking sleeping but his eyes were open. I found some frogs sleep with their eyes open. do WTF sleep with their eyes open?

Your little one sounds small for the large crickets. Standard rule is food should be no bigger than the space between their eyes. Also as babies, typically you feed every day, but if he's getting to fat, go every other day, just feed smaller portions and just watch the weight on the little one. Also feeding after sundown would be a great time for them since they are nocturnal. Mine come out as soon as the light goes off at 6 pm and if the bug dish isn't there, they just hang out in that area until it shows up. Pictures would also be great to be able to judge just how fat your little one is.
