What are these on my pacmans legs? There is one on each leg.
I'm not seeing what bump you are referring to.
I will upload some better pics in a few minutes.
Truffs, why is there sand on your container lid?
It's not sand. It's multivitamin powder which got wet from some slimy earthworms.
Allright, sorry. I'm still wondering how you got the top of the lid so dirty with it though. xD
FYI coconut fiber does have some sand in it either as filler or debris from part of the grinding process.
It was a struggle to restrain him but I did it as gently as I could.
Does it look red or irritated?
Are they hard or soft and are they equal in diameter?
It's not red and is the same colour as all his other skin. It isn't hard like a rock but isn't soft like his skin. I can't describe its feel very well.
Should I be concerned?
Not necessarily. If they don't seem to cause him pain and don't appear irritated then they are most likely no reason for concern.
He has had them all his life but I only really thought it could be serious now. I thought all ornates had them but obviously not.
I never lift up my frog's skin folds around the hips unless they have a bad shed and need assistence with removing the left over shed from those areas. Fluid buildup can be signs of localized infections. So if these are infected areas beneath the skin they could be the reason for a reduced appetite.
You may want to see a Vet to get a professional medical opinion on the matter. I've seen cysts before on frogs and some are benign and others are infections beneath the skin. Tumors can also appear, but they are normally hard. Cysts can affect mobility depending on where they pop up. In a joint or in close proximity to a limb can cause limited movement either due to pain or the cyst pressing on a nerve.
