First of all, I want to wish you all the best danfrog, and your little frog too. I realise your going through a rough time, but hang in there, this battle isn't over yet, Gingerbread is clearly showing fighting spirit!
Couldn't the stiffness in the arms point to a calcium overdose? Since if looking at it logically, too little calcium makes bones fluid, so too much could cause stiffness in them?
I know you allready know this, but I'l mention it again. I'm not an expert, but I have high logical thinking. Note that too much calcium can also cause constipation in humans.
The stiffness was right after I found her belly up last week. It went away that same day. I don't think it was the calcium dust, more like calcium dust, vitamins, reptaboost, pedialyte, stress combo. I really don't use enough dust for that. She did poop agian last night. About a half inch worth. Still leaning to one side also. But she is moving that arm to get around, might just be the poop inside her making her lean. Yesterday was a good day for her. I think tonight I will give her some calcium dust (very lightly coated). Hope she stays on track pooping every night.
That's not big, but she has been eating less correct? Does she still feel hard? I'd assume if she had a blockage that poop could pass by, that the poop would come out deformed, is the girth of the poop the same as usual?
Yeah we have been battling a nasty impaction last couple weeks. This pooped looked like normal healthy frog poop. Just smaller. She has been going a little every couple days. She is a little eating machine. I don't feed her as much lately due to her impaction. But soon as I stick a worm in her face she attacks it fiercely and wastes no time chomping it down. Guess that's a good thing.
I'm hoping one morning I will wake up to a large baby frog turd. I did scare her a little this morning. I had to remove the little turd and she didn't really like that. It was right next to her water dish in the corner.![]()
She looks pretty good today. Less lop sided.![]()
I just fed her a nightcrawler chunk. She is so fast when it comes to food. This piece had very little calcium dust on it. She was less lop sided today. After she ate I placed her in her soak dish that had just regular treated water as Heatheranne advised. Not getting my hopes up, but I think its 50/50 with this frog. She has good days and bad days. Like I said she is a tough little fighter. She has already grown a lot since I got her regardless of her situation. Thank you everyone for all the advise and different point of views.
i really hope she'll come around, you both are fighters as it seems.
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
If she pulls through I'm getting her the best frog stuff money can buy. Ty Lija.
I've been following this thread and it seems to be going on the right track Dan. Gingerbread has grown and is still eating so that is a plus. Another thing is that even though a possible impaction problem might exist, she's still pooping lately though so it might not be as bad as we thought it was right?
For now the best thing is to let the frog be, like everyone mentioned no more baths or extra stuff. Just feedings on a regular basis and the usual. I'm crossing my fingers for this pretty baby to pull through. Remember, the baby is still kinda new but she's been doing well eating and growing which are always good signs.

You have proof of this for frogs? Id LOVE to see it.
ONLY reason I say this is because I been diluting mine when needed![]()

What's good Dan?
Gingerbread hasn't been placed in her dish for a couple days. Should I place her tonight after she eats? She is still eating good and still leaning to one side. Haven't seen any little poops since last time either. Also she is due for a substrate change in a couple days, kinda want to see if she has any buried poop too. I have only spot cleaned what she left on top. Can I soak her briefly in a soak tub while I clean her enclosure? I can have her back in her enclosure in literaly five minutes. Other than that, she does the little headbutt thing when I peek in her enclosure to check on her.
Now I have been feeding her two nights then skipping a day instead of every couple days. But the pieces I feed her are pretty small. About a third to a quarter of the normal recommended size for frogs. Gives me a chance to monitor her eating. We all know its really bad if they stop eating, and she has yet to refuse food.
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
Now if I have to I will go out and buy and exact replica of her current set up , and just transfer her over that way. Wouldnt bother me a bit. I think her critter keeper and water dish was about 12 dollars total.
Oh and big highfive to the wife. She fed Gingerbread tonight with tongs. This was her first time feeding a frog. I showed her what she needed to do. This was Gingerbreads most aggressive feeding I have seen so far. She went wild trying to get the worm chunk.
Little froggy is hungry. I don't see a lump on her right side anymore. I placed her in her soak dish after she ate. She didnt try and jump away at all. I later went to check her and see if she started to poop. She was out of her soak dish, but when she saw me peeking she immediately turned to face me like she wanted more food. Should I start feeding her more than I have been? I don't want to overdo it and have her bust. This one is such a cool frog. Wish you guys could meet her.
