I've had this guy for a few weeks now. This was his first soak, and I figured I'd take the opportunity to snap some pictures of him. He's pretty big...I haven't measured, but I'd say he's at least 2.5-3 inches. He eats a ton! 10+ large crickets every night. He'll also croak several times during the night, but he seems shy. I try to peak into his cage as sneakily as I can when he's croaking, but no matter how sneaky I am he always seems to catch me and stopsHe's also very lazy. He rarely leaves his hole and never uses his water dish. I've only seen him jump across his cage once to catch a cricket, and that was right after he had pooped, so he must have been hungry. He doesn't like moving a lot even when he poops. One time he didn't even bother to make a new hole, he just made his current one bigger to accommodate his mess
Because of this, I'll gently push him out from his burrow and remove a lot of the substrate around it and then fill his hole back in with substrate from other parts of his enclosure, just to be safe that he won't tox out on his waste :P Yuck! Despite him being so lazy, I love him tons <3 I've tried feeding him night crawlers, but he doesn't like them. He just stares at them, and if they poke him, he flattens out and breaths fast. He also refuses to eat from tongs, so I've taken to removing the cricket's legs and just tossing them in front of him. He's gotten very good at that method, and sometimes catches them from the air! Since he's so eager to eat crickets, I'm going to try finding some dubias and seeing if those will get a feeding response from him.
Also, I haven't given him a name yet :$ I should really find him one.
