Greater sirens really are great!

I got 2 greater sirens and 3 cane toads at a recent reptile expo ,and I must say these are the most amazing salamanders! They are active,interact with one another, fun to watch hunt ,and most of all HUGE! I was a bit afraid to buy one after owning a lesser for a long time , I never saw the lesser eat(it did eat ofcourse though) so it was not the most interesting pet. These two eat the worms seconds after I drop them in. Somtimes they play king of the hill ,and that is also pretty neat. They flip out if I close the door loudly ,I think it has to do with the thing they use to detect when prey enters the water.


To sum it up do not hesitate to get these guys if you have the space for them! I could have got two much sooner of kingsnake ,and I wish I had! Only 25$ on kingsnake (same price at the expo) definetly worth the money.

I will put pictures up latter. Oh the Lesser did not die I sold it after I figured out it was definetly not a greater.

Cool. I always wanted a siren but don't they need huge tanks?
