Hi! I bought a female leptopelis uluguruensis today, and I'm super excited about it!
If anyone has some advice for this specie I'd be happy to hear it
Do these frogs change color at all or will mine probably stay brown?
Congrats, what an awesome cute face ! Corey (CJ Pelcher) keeps and breed them; there is some info on them in his thread and in here: AmphibiaWeb - Leptopelis uluguruensis . Good luck !
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
Adorable little face!
72 Gallon Bow - ACF and GF tank.
26 Gallon Bow - ACF tank.
20 Gallon Long - ACF tank.

Yes, she has the most cute face ever
Thanks for the links Carlos, very helpful!
I'm calling her Bambi btw
**CORRECTION**** trying to breed them. HAHA. Still unsuccessful to simulate their needs. =/ Based on the size and shape of your little one though... (hard to tell with camera angle.... it looks like you have a boy not a girl.)
I really hope you'll succeed sooner or later Hard work pay off.
I'm only assuming mine is a female because it doesn't have a blue throat and it was the biggest one that they were selling (but I'm not even sure if any of them were full grown).
I will measure "her" tomorrow
you have a completely different blood line than mine...all 4 of mine have yellow dots on the back..males more prominent than the females...but females have blue as well males also more prominent =)
A good way to tell for solid proof is if she ends up singing to you.
"TONK.....TONK....TONK"
Then you have a boy... haha
WOW............now THAT's a real cutie you got there.

Oh, the ones with spots are so pretty. If I buy another one I will choose one with yellow spots
You were right about the gender! My frog started to call the second night, and since then he has croaked several times. During the evening, during the night, in the morning etc. But it's mostly no more than five signals each time. One time he croaked right after my Whites Tree Frog had croaked
He is also eating well and today I found him shedding skin. It seems I got a very happy and healthy individual.
I really want to get a female now, but I don't have much hope of finding these frogs for sale again any time soon (if ever)
This is his temporary cage. Today I ordered a glass viv which is 30x40x57. I hope it'll be big enough for him.
I know!!
Enjoy your little guy...They are hardy frogs actually. KEEP IN MIND. A LARGE percent of these guys are carriers of CHYTRIDIOMYCOSIS. So DO NOT MIX SPECIES with this little guy. Although these are very tolerable for some reason the fugus. Try not to handle so much. I noticed you didnt handle in your photos so thats a HUGE plus =)
Have you seen him eat yet? These guys are actually hardy eaters...they will eat right in front of you =P.
How large is that temporary enclosure? Seems small in the photo?? Looks like a tubaware bin which can harbor bacteria alot more than a glass tank=/.
Second: That tank size you ordered? What metric system is that? We used inches here and if thats the case its SUUUPER BIG...haha
Oh my gosh your frog is ADORABLE I'm so jealous!! Congrats on a boy, do you have a name? He is sooooooo cute. As they said in the 1960's (we are reading a book from then in school) he's a real looker!
Wow lovely little one! I have also just bought one for me today too! Yay for us!!
Once again, the frog is beautiful! Congratz!
