What are some things I could do to encourage my Green Frog's immune response? (Rana Clamitans)
The tank is very clean I wash the glass with an iodine and water solution and change the water every day. His food is dusted with calcium. He really likes sunshine and I'd like to get some live plants when I get a bigger enclosure. That's all I've got so far. Happiness, cleanliness, supplements, sunshine and lots of alone time.
I'm asking because I've only had him for a month, he came from outside and he was injured.
I want to do my best.
(Please don't reply just to say something depressing!)
I would also dust with VITAMINS *REPTIVITE* this will give him a balanced diet. Follow the instructions on the container. Also a large variety of feeders is good. Don't stick to a staple diet if you can avoid it. This will boost your frogs immune system as well. Do you use REPTI-SAFE or some form of water dechlorinator? Repti-Safe is a highly recommended water dechlorinator and it also is beneficial to adding electrolytes to your water dish which also help a frogs immune system. It is made by zoomed and is a blue liquid.
I hope this helps.
