Since I'l be moving my big albino pacman girl into my exo-terra, I've decided to go full custom and ditch the premade background.
I'm looking for some information on live plants. I'l be making the background out of the sprayable pur-foam (not sure if this is the correct English term), and I'm wondering what plants I should be looking at since I have an albino girl and can't provide UVB.
If live plants aren't an option for this reason, then I'l go for fake ones.
I could also use some helpfull tips, this is a first for me and I plan to use dried moss and dried plantation soil for the background, wich will offcourse be attached with aquarium silicone.
It seems easy in all the videos I've seen but I've been cursed with two left hands unfortunately.
I also plan to add some decorative statues, so I'l be browsing the thrift shops tomorrow with high hopes.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated and I promise to post pictures when my first self made (not counting my first fail), is complete.
Edit: I'l also be making a post in the plants section and please note that plants from the South America region are preffered but not required.
Weird avatar! You've got the same idea I'm planning for Duncan's new home; but an additional challenge. The "albino" skin and eyes are sensitive to the light the plants will need. Unless you can find some very low light plants that will do OK on existing room light filtering in through glass, think fake is the way to go
.
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
I've found a few low light plants so far, but they all seem to be low humidity.
I've actually been staring at ferns for the past hour, lol. Unless someone knows a plant, I really think it's going to be silk. A shame though, would love to have a creeping vine over the background that needs weeding once in a while. I'm off for my decoration hunt right now.Goodluck with your tank!
Plants do not require uv lighting. You can use a plethora of plants in the tank you plan. I have been growing plants indoors under metal halide and fluorescent lighting without uv supplementation for decades. What kind of lighting are you planning on using?

I use tillandsias with a led grow light for my albino paccie's tank!
"Those among us who are keepers (yes, I am one) owe each and every animal, be their cost mere pennies or thousands of dollars, the best of conditions and care. Research each species before acquisition, and then acquire only those that you can care for adequately and with relative ease." - Richard Bartlett
You are right Bill! Still; the problem is that "albino" pacman's skin and eyes are sensitive to daylight type light even if no UVA or UVB is involved. You know lot's more than me about vivariums and plants, so maybe can recommend OPs about some that would survive low light conditions? Thank you, I could use that information too!

So it's a mater of the intensity of the light? Or the color spectrum? Typically, albino creatures are sensitive to ultraviolet radiation, not intensity of light, although there are exceptions.
Any plant that is shade loving would work. Most ferns, philodendrons, pothos, dieffenbachia to name a few terrestrials. Marginals would include cryptocoryne species as well as anubias species. But since marginals require a bit of water, I would assume they would be out as far as a pacman tank would go.
