Hi, I've read loads on this forum about WTF's and read that they can eat on another if they're dramatically different in size. I got two about three weeks ago both similar size although once was noticeably bigger. They've both seem to have settled in well and were feeding well. The smaller one, Freddie, was a concern for a while as he didn't seen to want to eat and was hidden most the time. This bigger, Gonzo, was jumping around after crickets and was always on show. Freddie was always brown and sometimes had a slight green coming in from his belly, but Gonzo has been green and brown. However over the last week they were both feeding well and getting bigger, I was regularly finding poo and Freddie was out and about sometimes beating Gonzo to the crickets. However this afternoon I've gone to check on the little guys and clean their viv and I can only find one in there, I've taken the thing apart and there's defiantly only one!!! They have a habit of hiding in the roof but Freddie'a missing. Gonzo looks bigger today but firstly I don't think Freddie was that different a size yesterday and Gonzo doesn't seem big enough to have eaten him!? I'm so upset, has Freddie been eaten? How common is this? Is it more likely that hes escaped? Should I start a frog hunt?![]()

Panic over! After embarking on a frog hunt Freddie was found! He was hiding under the bed covered in fluff looking very sorry for himself! After a feed and bath he is back at home with gonzo. One very happy owner!
Excellent! We have to be careful when working in our enclosures and opening/closing doors. As you have learned, frogs can hop out or even get hurt by doors. Glad you found him and good luck!
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
I am glad you found your frog--what a relief! But as a warning...I personally did have a WTF consume a cage mate once. I really do truly believe its important to keep them together only if they're about the same size. :/
No problem. My new rule with WTF? I compare their mouth sizes. Could the little one fit in his mouth? If so, they're not a good fit. If not, they can be friends. I used that logic with his new friend, and they've been together for a good 6 months now...no problems.
