As some of you guys know I now have a baby frog. She poop the instant I put her in her new home last Thursday. It took a long time for her to poop though. Well I didn't find any more poop throughout the week so last night I gave her a honey soak. She started going but none came out. I even saw her vent open up and saw the poop start to come but she gave up. She has been eating like a champ. What do I need to do?
Hi,
What has she been eating, and how much?
Another honey bath will not hurt , as long as it is not stressing her out.
Rinse her when you're done.

Every night she has been eating about two smaller crickets, and two nightcrawler chucks cut about the distance between the eyes. She has had two small small waxworms also. Ill probably give her another soak tonight and hold off on feeding till she does poop.
Hi Dan, not sure why some of these Pacmans are so constipated. Fresita would poop couple times in a row and then go 2 weeks without pooping... crazy! BTW, you can cut the earthworms a bit larger, same as frogs SVL is fine
.
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
Don't give her anymore Waxworms until she poops.
Go out and buy some Repta Boost and dust her next meal with it. She is probably constipated from the Waxworms. Make the next honey bath around 82° and soak her until the water cools. Then prepare a second bath the same temp, but add Pedialyte instead of honey and soak until the frog poops. Gently massage the frog's right side in small circles.
Kk will do! I have unflavored pedialyte on hand. Ill call around the pet stores here for reptiboost.
Found some reptaboost in town leaving now to get it. How often should I be seeing poop for baby pacman frogs? Ill cut out the waxworms all together, I only got them to spark her appetite in the first place.
It depends danfrog, My one baby poops 2-3 times a week and my other one poops once a week. I drop them in the waterdish on wednesday and saturday, if no poop is seen an entire week, I give them a little bath.
My babies seem to catch on fast though, they are both pooping by themselves. So now I have 3 babies that are potty trained and my adult refuses too unless I make her, funny no? :P
Ah yup Gingerbread is definitely constipated. I have everything I need to fix her though. She tryied going last night but couldn't get it out. I'm going to soak her agian when I get home. She is a little eater though, and her aim is way better now.
K she is trying to poop agian. I gave her the honey bath. Then put her in her enclosure for a sec to do the pedialyte mixture and she started pooping in her water dish. It seems to be comming out a little easier this time. Still taking a while though. I'm going to soak her in the pedialyte bath after this for about 10 mins. She will be getting the repaboost tonight also.
Still trying to poop. A little has come out so far.
A little came out. Was about a quarter inch. Gave her the pedialyte soak after. Hope she isn't too stressed out for the reptaboost tonight. Ill soak her agian tomorrow.
She ate a good sized nightcrawler chunk and a small cricket both dusted with the repta boost tonight. I hope during tomorrows soak she gets everything out.
Kk gave her a honey soak for a while. Then soaked her in pedialyte. I used 10 cap fulls of dechorlinated water and 1 cap full unflavored pedialyte. I left the room so I wouldn't desturb her. I came back and she was upside down. She seems ok now. I wonder if she is impacted. She trys to poop when I soak her but nothing comes out. I think I stressed her pretty good today. Should I move to a hospital tank?
Yes this is a sign of severe stress. Do not feed the frog anymore until after she poops. No hospital tank. That will just increase the stress level. Just make her comfortable. You can add Honey and Pedialyte in the same solution and pour some into her water dish and just place her in her dish and leave her be. She is impacted, but keeping stress as low as possible is best since she has began to flip over. Just do the baths in her home within her own dish.
She is back in her enclosure and sitting in the water dish. I taped off the front side completely. I will ad some honey and pedialyte later. Man I hope she will be alright. It really scared me when I found her upside down. She has been eating really good this last week, I think she will be okay for a few days without eating.
Yea Dan, at this point I think the best thing to do is relieve stress and leave her alone for a bit so she can get used to the new habitat. All those baths can really stress a baby specially during the first week. I think she will be okay, maybe it's just a matter of her getting used to it since the baths did not do much but I believe eating well the first week is a big plus and hopefully the impaction is gone tonight.
