    I've never kept an axolotl but in my experience young clawed frogs are shy and hide a lot. Adults swim around and are more curious and they most definitely will come up to you and beg for food.

    I think you should just be more patient and let them develop their personalities more.

    Patience is not an issue usually but when you don't even know if your pet is eating its not good.

    Not sure what you mean. ACF are ravenous little eaters from day one.

    Mine would not even come out to eat ... I NEVER saw it at all no matter how patient I was. Even food did not draw it out.

    I had a male that was like that, caused himself to miss out in food and the female froglette that was with him grew way faster. He eventually caught on, but is still my smallest frog by far.

    I notice you speak of him in the past tense, did his small size catch with him? I know he had some much larger tank mates.

    He has actually been growing slowly but surely. Even did some singing and amplexing a while back. Nobody screws with him and he is fearless.
