    Default I'm new here:)

Hello everyone, my name is April. about 2 weeks ago we found a toad in our yard who only has 1 eye. His other eye is somewhat closed and it don't seem to have a eyeball in it. we brought "him" in and have him in a aquarium. My question is how often do we feed him? we were feeding him every day, I figured if he was out in the yard and was hungry he would find something to eat. he has almost double in size! are we feeding him to much? is he getting ready to hibernate, does he hibernate? any and all answers would be greatly appreciated. thanks so much.

Hello and welcome to FF April! Glad you helped out your one eyed toad! If it's eating and growing all sounds pretty good. First thing we need to do is ID the species to better help. Here is a general care guide for terrestrial American toads: Frog Forum - Toad Basics - Keeping ground-dwelling Toads. A care sheet for Bufo, Anaxyrus, Spea, Scaphiopus, Ollotis, Alytes, Pelobates . Will wait for toad pics and do include some of it's home too, thanks !
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
