Here is the best I can get for now. I know you know this already but these two are synonyms for the Chinese Gliding Frog, which looks very similar to a Whites Tree Frog. We already knew that too.
If we accept this as settled we can try and unravel the Vietnamese Blue Tree Frog problem.
I found reference that suggests this is a Vietnamese captive bred Chinese Gliding Frog. The problem is they don't look the same, as you mentioned. The only other thing I can find is that R.dennysi and P.dennysi both mean Chinese Gliding Frog however, Vietnamese Blue Tree Frog points to nothing except what people selling and buying them are calling them, P.dennysi. If I strip out the trade references and try to find it's Taxonomy it doesn't exist. At this point I have to believe it is a hybrid or color morph of something that has been artificially created for the pet trade and has yet to be identified. Sorry but this is as close as I can get with the lack of information to be had. Have you found anything else that I may have missed?
I did a little internet research last night, and I too couldn't find a definate 'proper' name for this little guy.
I'm going to get some pictures as soon as I can get rid of my OH as he doesn't know I've bought him yet...... I managed to sneak him into the house and set up a tank without him noticing! Don't think I'd get away with doing a photo shoot without OH noticing!!! Muahahahaha!!!!!
Oh and Kurt, my smiling face has missed you all very much!!![]()

I did manage to get a couple of pictures of the lil' fella. Just need to find my card reader now.... Sorry! I'm useless!!! Haha
He is a very attractive frog, nice lime green at the moment. Healthy looking, hasn't eaten yet but I'm guessing he'll need time to settle in properly. Have popped 2 very small locusts in his tank. And a water dish. Hoping he'll be happy with me......
Paul, you more than me at this point. I think you meant to say is that the white-lipped treefrog, Litoria infrafrenata looks like the Chinese flying frog and not the White's. My best guess is that maybe the Vietnamese blue is either a juvenile of R. dennysi or a completely different species all together. Time to hit the books, but sadly I do not have field guides for Asia.
