(I use feeder fish as a general term.)
Every once in a while I like to try and treat my frogs to a rare treat. But, I run into a problem when it comes to fish. More or less the fish go ignored in the water dish or the frog flops into the water pushing the fish out. So other than tong feeding directly...any tips?
Fish are a tricky subject. Unless done correctly you could end up getting your frog sick. What type of fish are you using? You said they are live, did you raise the fish personally? There is a recommended frozen silverside fish brand I've heard about, but don't remember the name.
I agree, feeding them feeder fish could cause problems. Goldfish feeders often carry parasites, so definitely avoid them.

This is random but does anyone know a tadpole frpm NE that is gray with black spots
Is the frog tong trained?
One problem with placing the fish in the water dish is that whatever diseases and parasites the fish jas the frog will have as well. This occurs while the frog absorbs water through it's skin.
If the frog is tong trained and the frog won't take the fish then it is not interested in that kind of food source.
Their all tong-trained.
I mean seriously they'll even attack the tongs without a food item in it.

Nope, just stare at it as it flops side to side.
After further thought I think it may be a size issue. I'm getting similar results with crickets. But, they'll all heartily devour Canadian night crawlers. The crickets and fish are an inch long and they don't seem to excite my bigger frogs.
Lol! Nothing beats having fish as pets...
