Yes it is; local animal importation laws can be a nightmare to navigate ! In USA it's very expensive to import for commercial use; but you can bring in couple fish or small animals with you in plane as long airline OKs and they are not protected and listed in CITES .

I'll give it a shot and ask for the specific information about the procedure when next time traveling USA,I have been to USA when I was 15,but at that time I didn't even know people could raise reptiles and amphibians in homes as pets.....What a pity not seeing those beautiful species that USA advanced breeders don't import into China.....
