Yeah, waxworms are a great treat, but be carefull not to offer them frequently, I've read somewhere (even on this forum I think) they are very high on sugar, and if you offer them too much, your animals will want nothing else but waxworms, but it's a great way to fatten them up a bit. I personally preffer silkworms over waxworms, tiny little proteine bombs!
Also, it's great to hear your baby is doing better!
Yeah that's what I was thinking about them too. They are going to be her treat food while she is small. How often can I feed her the wax worms? She was hopping all over trying to get the crickets agian. Not used to seeing a pacman on the prowl. Hope she stays that way.
Well, I personally feed my frogs untill the box is empty throughout a week. I mix it up, they get one wax worm per 2 normal prey items, wich would amount in 5-6 per frog in a week, but note, I don't buy them regularly.
Ah ok cool thanks. By the time I run out she is going to be too big for them. I got a can that had 50 of them, and some of them are too big for her. If I tried to give them to Mojo he would probably frogslap me.
Actually, don't be so sure of that, my girl is 11cm svl and she still loves silkworms. Admitted, silkworms are about 2-3x the size of a waxworm, but I bet some frogs would still respond.
Ill give them a try once Mojo comes up to eat. Right now he is doing what he does best. Absolutely nothing, well that and breathing.
Little update on Gingerbread. She had three small/medium (shmedium) crickets and a small waxworm. She took two crickets and the worm from tongs. I gave her the worm last. When she realized i was tong feeding she started looking at me like she was begging. How often should these little ones poop? I'm hoping she will start using her water dish. She pooped the other day as soon as I put her in her new home.
