Hi there. I am new here. My daughter brought home some tadpoles from the river the other day to raise (she has wanted to do this for a while). We set up an aquarium for them and they have done quite well and have grown into tiny frogs. She has done a lot of research, but feels that she needs to know what type of frog they are so she will know what type of habitat to set up for them. She said that some frogs live in the water and some leave the water and never return except to lay eggs. So she is worried about getting the habitat perfect for them.
Anyway, we got these tadpoles from the Trinity River in north central Texas.
If anyone could tell us what the best type of habitat would be for them, that would be great. And also what we need to feed them now that they are frogs.
Thanks a bunch!!
Put in some sand or graval and water a few inches higher than the gravel, when they first grow all four legs change the tank to half land half water you can feed them boiled lettuce fish food and even worms if they are wild. I hope this helps
Thank you!! This is very helpful. My daughter is working on redoing the aquarium today. She really is diligent about taking care of all of her pets, and she has been so stressed out trying to find out the perfect habitat and food for her new little frogs. Now she has something better to do on, because her internet research left her confused with so many variables. Thanks again for your help!
