    Default mouth problem?

Recently my pacman has not been opening his mouth for food as well as he use too, or so I think so. It just seems as if he opens his mouth just enough to get his food. He eats fine, temp and humidity are running fine, clean enclosure, going to the bathroom fine. Maybe its nothing, but I just want to make sure.

What are you feeding him? How often do you dust his food with calcium+d3? And how often with multivitamin if you use it?

you have a very lazy frog it seems lol but if you could reply to qs Jack asked we'd be more sure about it.
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!

Night Crawlers are his preferred source of food, doesn't really seem to want crickets anymore since I've introduced him to the night crawlers lol. Anyway I give him the calcium with the Vit D 3 times a week, and been feeding him outside his enclosure too

Also I forgot to ask how old and big is he? If its big enough you could also try feeding it adult dubia roaches. Mine loves adult female roaches but for some reason not the males.

You seem to be dusting his food fine with calcium. You should also dust it's food once a week with multivitamin. Try mixing up his diet more. Like Lija said you probably just have a lazy frog. If it can fit the food in its mouth then it shouldn't be a problem.

He's almost 3inches, not sure of the exact age, but he's anywhere between 6-10months

You should dust with multivitamin once a week especially since he doesn't want a varied diet. The multivitamin will help him get some of the nutrients he's not getting because of only eating night crawlers but I would still recommend trying to find some more foods he likes to vary his diet more.

I know that vitamin A has something to do with them sticking out thier tongues. Might have something to do with mouth opening too. But im not sure.

Yep, your thinking of short tongue syndrome. It makes their tongues loose their stickiness and although I don't think it actually makes their tongue shorter I think it restricts its movement or something like that.

Are you saying the vitamin A will help with that?

Yes. Lack of vitamin a could be the cause, or just lazy.

I'm thinking that might be it. Don't think the pet store took too good of care for him. Only offered him a few crickets everyday and never a source of calcium or vitamins. Really wanna take care of this guy well

Short Tongue Syndrome is caused by a lack of both Calcium and Vitamin A, but if lacking in one and not the other it can still appear. Vitamin A is essential in the production of the sticky mucus on their tongues and that of the protective mucus they coat their skin with.

You need to provide a multivitamin once per week. Rep-Cal Herptivite is an excellent source of Vitamin A because they converted Beta-Carotene into Vitamin A to prevent Vitamin A Toxicity which is deadly.
