    Default Introducing Gingerbread!

Just got another frog from petsmart. They were keeping it totally wrong. I'm really excited, been wanting a baby baby. My daughter named the little one. I'm not too familiar with babies so I'm going to do the trouble in the enclosure questions after this post. Here are the pics!

    Everything is spot on,
However I wouldn't dust worms it causes a big mess and make the worm excrete more slime and may
make the frog not want to eat worms.

I would feed a worm and what ever small crickets it will eat. at each feeding. When the frog is full it will not eat.
While it is this young I wouldn't worry too much about over feeding, after all it is a really fast growing baby.
with proper feeding you can expect to double its size in about 3 weeks.
When I got my little Pepito in the beginning of 5/13 he was the same size as your little one and now 8/14 he is almost 3 inches in diameter
    and weighs 83g.
(I would also get a digital kitchen scale to keep an eye on the frogs weight.)
I would gut load and dust the crickets.

when misting be careful not to mist the temp/humidity sensor it can cause it to malfunction.

Welcome to the forum and glad to see you are doing all the right stuff for your new frog.
in sexing the little one , it might take a month or two for nuptial pads to show. (for a male) on the top of his thumbs.
You really can't go by if it make sounds, both female and males make sounds but only the male croaks.

Ah well I've been here on the forums for a few months. I'm hoping Gingerbread is already tong trained. We will find out tonight. I'm waiting on it to finish pooping so I can change the water. I've had my other frog Mojo since may and he is almost 4 inches. I'm hoping Gingerbread is a female. If not the littleone isn't going to have the manliest of names.

    Congrats Danfrog!

I myself dust my night crawlers and they don't produce any extra slime or make a mess. This only happens when you dust them with the Multi-vitamin but not with Ca+D3; and even then it rarely happens unless you crust the worm with too much powder. Try to feed him some worm pieces though, my pyxie ate on the first night so yours might even do the same thing.

Overall the care is about the same thing as an adult, temps 82F day/ 78F night and not hotter/cooler than that for babies; other than that you already know what to do my friend.

Very nice froggy though, it looks a lot like a green apple hybrid just a bit darker but very pretty pattern and lots of green too.

My heat pad is making it a few degrees to warm for my liking. Probably going to try and out it on a different side and see how that works. Hope its not a green apple. I'm thinking regular green cranwelli. Been looking at a lot of baby frog pics but I'm not experienced enough to tell between baby catingaas, cranwellis, and the green apples. They all look the same to me lol.

"He's" a cranwelli and I don't blame you, I'm still having trouble too.
I'd say hes darker then an apple.

That's great news! Both my babies keepers are looking to be missing one cricket, unless it's hiding really well.

i give you some baby tips you MUST take a lot of pics and post them here for everybody to enjoy!
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!

I put the heat pad on my dimmer last night and its working. I just have to find the correct settings on the dimmer. Ill be keeping Gingerbread 82 for day and 78 at night. I have an exo-terra temp/humidity reader. I really like it because it reads in tenths of degrees.

Two more of Gingerbread sleeping. She is acting all grown up burrowing down. I think Mojo is a little jealous.

Grrr. Figured out why Gingerbread didn't eat. Too cold. Me being the newb I am I had put the temp probe on the same side as the heat pad. I moved the probe over to the middle of the side and its reading a constant 77 degrees. I'm going to the petstore now to fix it.
