Hi I was just wondering If roaches are nutritional enough to keep my leopard gecko on them as they seem pretty efficient in their breeding mannerisms and diet thanks a lot!!!!
They may be one of the most nutritious foods but I still think you should mix up their diet a bit. Also feed her mealworms, locusts, crickets and occasionally waxworms.
I've fed my leopard gecko roaches, and its a little frustrating. I put one in and it moves round, she runs over to it, it plays dead, and then she loses interest! I had a little more luck with a small serving dish because the roaches try to get out sometimes, but then run into the same problem. I have better success with crickets and mealworms, which sucks because getting roaches was supposed to save me money on feeders.
Also Turkistan roaches are more nutritious than Dubias.
ther'ye the ones that look like crickets aren't they
You tell me.
Can you link a good care sheet for them? My only concern is the males can fly. I want to check any advice they may have. Plus how hard or easy it is to breed them. Hope I didn't thread-jack, I'm honestly curious and want to look into them!
I have a colony of dubia roaches that feed my 5 pacmans, 12 tarantulas, and 2 leopard geckos. I primarily feed 90 percent dubia since they cost me so little to keep my colony going. Ill give everything something different once every month or so. I'd go with dubia roaches as staple diet. If be spending hundreds on feeders each month if I used store bought. Never had any problems with any of my specimens. Don't forget to dust em every once in a while with calcium and vitamins.
