I finally know what my tadpoles are!

They are tree frogs (and pretty sure they're green, since the one that has morphed is turning greener by the day.) I can't believe how fast they morph though. The tail pretty much disappeared overnight. I had to go out and get a terrarium for this one, because we now might be keeping a few instead of setting them free (they were tadpoles in my kids pool. Saved a couple when I dumped the pool, and planned on setting all of them free.) It seems to like the terrarium a lot, with climbing all over the glass sides, and jumping on the leaves. Another tadpole had three legs, and the fourth was really close to done, so it will probably be joining the first soon.

Anyways, this is my frog :-) My son wants to name it Doctor, which I am really thinking we'll do.

Cuban tree frogs come in a wide range of colors. Most are brownish, but some are almost white, and some are dark green.

In an older post, she showed pictures of the tadpoles, they aren't grey tree frogs.

Hyla versicolor (grey tree frog) tadpoles look like this:


I got some mystery tadpoles (from ebay), supposed to be green tree frogs. They clearly weren't, and turned out to be cubans. Hers could still be something else, but most native frogs are smooth (that was one of the ways to id cubans).

I see google was nice to you. Fill free to show me another green cuban tree frog . Seems as though you whent on google and chose the images that best helped support your claims. Baby cubans also generally have stripes and reddish eyes. Not saying they all do but that is the case with most of them which leads me away from that species.

I have zero problems with you. I'm just challenging your opinion as it is not the same as mine and I may be proven wrong and learn something from it or even you may learn something from it.

Just wanna say to the person who got snarky about finding ONE photo of a green Cuban that maybe some people are just better at finding information.

There is a thread on this forum about free Cuban tree frogs by Tommyboy and the majority of his Cubans are green(pics posted).
