    Default Ghost!

    Hi everybody!
Some updates.. This year my toads were particularly active... They laid eggs four times since may, the last eggs found yesterday! This year too Im full of tadpoles and toadlets...
But there is something new: one tadpole was almost completely white, you could see gills and everything inside. Now metamorphosis is almost over, and a sort of ghost toadlet is in my tank!
He's not actually a real albino, eyes are not red and there are some spots, although very pale: I think he's leucistic. Have you ever seen something like this?
Now I wait for the complete metamorphosis to see the color of the belly.
Here some pictures to share: the little guy during the development..

Male or female I doubt it would produce any probably just hets. You'd have to breed back one of its offspring to it to produce more

I'll keep him (her?) for sure, but later I'll try to breed to his brothers/sisters. Leucism is recessive, but I think I'll have some chance to have more like him with some inbreeding.
By now, let him reach adulthood! I'll keep you updated!

Congrats on your luck, appears leucistic from pics and shows attractive too! It's parental pair could make another one, so would try breeding them again. Also, you can breed back to other sex parent in hopes it's one with leucistic genes; breed as you plan with sibling; and then breed back to it's F1. Do watch for bad genes showing up during inbreeding and add new gene pool as required. Good luck !

Update.. Ghost is growing. He lost tail, eats fruitflies and seems to do well. Here's a picture of him as a toadlet. He (she?)'s still white but he developed a very, very pale green on the back and head: it's the same pattern normal toadlet show when the start to turn green from the dark brown they are after metamorphosis, but he seems to lack completely the brown pigment.
    Interesting.. and he's really cute!

    Hi everybody!

Here some updates: ghost is growing, and he's doing well! The color is still very strange and different from that of his brothers and sisters: he's very pale green above and almost white on legs and on the side; only black spots became darker.
I post some pictures (not very good, I'l try to do better with more light)
