Default Need a little help! AGTF

I purchased another frog, because Laputa is thriving, and Marven is, well Marven, she is doing great. I really wanted a male, so I found one (that is actually a male, marven was supposed to be male, but is female) and his name is Lucifer. I've had him since July 27th, and he has been in his own terrarium, but I dont think he is doing well. I've seen him eat once, but other than that the same crickets have been in there for a while, and they either die, or I take them out when I clean his tank every day or two. I've came to his tank twice where he is laying on the bottom incredibly stiff and doesn't even move when I go to pick him up. The first time he did this, he jumped but was so lethargic that he could barely jump away, but he tried. this time, I found him scrunched up in the corner stiff and hard as ever. I immediately put him in a honey bath and he is coming around, but this one, I'm not sure how to take care of this. I've fed him reptiboost once, and I may start doing that so he can keep up his energy. I have not had him tested for worms yet, but I will soon, I want to get him eating first before I do. He was Croaking the first 3-4 days I had him though, then it stopped...

    Any ideas?

Lucifer is an American Green Tree Frog.

Then I would feed him; Dubia roaches, Night crawlers, Mealworms, Wax worms [but only as a treat], etc. Give him more variety with his food. that might make him eat again. He was probably underfed, not cared about, and sick when he was at the pet store. What pet store did you get him from?

How is Lucifer? Is he eating?

Lucifer has been doing off and on. I finally got a poo sample and he does have some parasites that are treatable. I believe they started with an "r" but I was still overwhelmed by the loss of Laputa I was half paying attention when they called me. Marven and Lucifer are both on .02ml of Panacur susp. every 24 hours for 3 days and then I will submit another poo sample to get tested. Lucifer has been off and on. I found him twice within a month of him looking all shriveled and dying looking but as soon as I give him a honey bath he pops right back up and is full of life. He hasn't eaten hardly any since I've had him, but he is doing about 1-3 crickets every night to 2-3 days. He stopped croaking which I would assume is because he is full of parasites?

Good to hear there's a diagnoses. Yes, I'd say he stopped croaking due to parasites, but I'm far from an expert so I can't confirm for sure. Is he looking very skinny? I'd suggest whenever you find him not looking so good, to give him a Pedialyte soak; 1:10 ratio of Pedialyte to de-chlorinated, lukewarm water. It will replace lost electrolytes and give him a little more energy, which I assume he doesn't have much of because he's not eating much.

How big is he? Is he big enough to force feed if you need to?

Hope that Panacur kicks in soon...

When I went to give him his meds last night, he was pretty boney. I have given him at least 2 reptiboost feedings, which gave me a sample of poo to give to the vet. I wasn't getting anything from him for the longest time. After I force feed him, he'll eat one or two crickets for a day or so then stop eating for a while and I see the most droppings after that short period. I had him in a 12x12x18 tank, the one I first got for my frogs and I now have him in a little critter keeper just so I can keep track of his eating better and find his droppings better. He loves to jump when I'm trying to take care of him though, he bruised his nose the first day I had him just getting him home from the store. I bought him July 27, but I'm not introducing him to Marven until I get a good to go from the vet.

So I wanted to give an update. Lucifer is doing great. He did have a bunch of parasites and was put on some meds for 3 days and then his sample came back clean so he was put into Marven's Home. Now, I did notice, just looking back at previous photos of him, he has lost a significant amount of weight. He is bone thin and I know he wasn't eating for the longest time so I forcefed reptiboost for him. Should I see how things turn out for a while in his new home or just feed him again? Will his appetite come back now that he is free of parasites?

Marven is in the back corner and Lucifer is happily laying in the water bowl. I believe this to be his favorite spot because there is a heating pad underneath.
