I have a white's tree frog. He/ she is a little one. I am going to give him/her a friend. I know they have to be the same size and the pet store I got the frog at had only small ones s better get one now. My Question is do I need to Quarantine the new frog and for how long? I would think I wouldn't have to quarantine him/her since it's the same frog from the same store even same tank as the one I have now. I read to quarantine a week or 45 days. how long do I need to keep them separated if I need to?
I believe the minimum quarantine time is one month for a captive bred frog.
Personally I would quarantine any new arrival no matter if it came from the same source.
ok so a month it is. was hoping a weekwhat is the minuim I would need for the 2nd frog for a temp. home? I have a 1/2 gallen fish tank. I was gonna use that with reptile carpet and small dish for water. put some sticks in. would that work?
Hi,
Plain white paper towels are fine ( cleaner ! ) change at least every 2-3 days.
Change during the day when the frog is sleeping.
Rinse the water dish in hot, hot tap water everyday and refill with de-chlorinater water.
You will be able to see the cricks and the poop on the paper etc. to keep track of what he is eating.
and/or
You could bowl feed ( if you bowl feed... feed in the bowl and on the paper towel until you see the frog on the rim of the bowl)

Quarantine should be no less than 30 days with 2 negative fecal exams 2 weeks apart. Depending on frog size you can get away with small enclosure; but think 1/2 gallon fish tank is tiny.
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
I read even a plastic container would do (of course this is the site that said a week quarantine was ok. so what should the minimum size be?
