    Default My big boy, Gonzo.

This is Gonzo, my biggest male. This video is about 2 years old, he is probably about 3 years old in it. I will have to get some updated pics and videos of him. Last time I weighed/measured him (about a years ago) he tipped the scales at around 20 ounces (1.25 pounds) and was right around 7" svl.

    Very nice!

I have a male that is about 3.75 months old and 6.25" SVL. Haven't weighed him yet though.

Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!

Over 6" of growth in under 4 months? That's unheard of...

Someone check that frog for HGH.

How cute! I love how they use their hands to push food in their mouths

Had Gonzo (as well as our other 3 frogs) out of their tanks for cleaning today. I took the opportunity to weigh Gonzo as I haven't weighed him in quite a while. The big man tipped the scales at 29.6 oz (about 840 grams).

Gonzo is a gentle giant, much more mild than any of my other Pyxies.

    He's a heavy weight!

Günther my male is really gentle too. Never tries to bite.

It sure is funny how they all have such different personalities. My 2nd oldest male Pyxie (Duke) is about a year younger than Gonzo, and he is still so aggressive! He goes nuts when I feed him, usually missing his target the first few strikes....Whereas Gonzo will just slowly turn towards his food, look at it, and then with a slow (yet accurate) strike, he brings the prey into his mouth and down into his belly

They do all have very different personalities. Out of all 21 frogs that I have not one acts the same.

I have Günther tong trained, but evey now and then he likes to catch his own from the ground.

Wow that is awesome. That really was a "one gulp!" What enclosure/tank is that by the way?

*Edit. the water section divider threw me off, it's a regular glass aquarium right? It looked like an exo terra or similar with the doors open.

Yep, just a regular 55 gal glass aquarium with a Plexi-glass divider.
