I just want to find out what the best staple diet food for my pixie is, to ensure his maximum size.
And how often am i supposed to calcium dust the food?
I feed my girl crickets dusted in vitamins/calcium as well as superworms twice a week. They are the easiest things for me to get a hold of here. The best diet is a varied diet tho, the more variety the better.
If you can get a hold of dubia roaches or locusts, and maintain a supply they are more nutritious than crickets and superworms. Also locust and dubia roaches don't smell as bad as crickets and aren't as talented escape artists.![]()
My neighbors downstairs love me :/
Crickets, nightcrawlers, roaches, and any other worms will do nicely for a diet. Some people feed mice or other small animals. If you do do that I'd only feed them a mouse once every few months. Six months would be best.
I use calcium supplements every third feeding or so.
I use nightcrawlers and Blaptica dubia roaches most of the time. Occasionally I give the frogs superworms, and maybe a couple of times a year I feed them a mouse or two.
