Powerheads are meant to be run under water. It will overheat and probably burnout if you run as a fan. If you need extra ventilation a computer cooling fan is more appropriate. Doesn't your enclosure have a top screen?
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !

I do have a screen top, I'm running about 4-5 inches of water at the bottom of my tank (with sparkling gouramis), which creates a lot of humidity. I range from 60-80%, times approaching 90%. I just figure the extra ventilation will level out the humidity a bit.

The main reason I wanted to use the powerhead was because it looks a lot nicer than a fan inside my tank. Either way, good to know! Thanks.
