Hey everyone. I recently have been interested in taking care of multiple Clowns inside an Exo-Terra that is 12" x 12" x 18." I wanted to talk a little bit about their diet. I would like to avoid crickets if I can, and maybe feed them Melangostar FF's... Is this reasonable or am I just making it hard on myself to keep up with their feeding?
What I am looking for in a new amphibian is something small that can do well with eating Melangostars as a staple diet, are very colorful, but not PDFs. Would the Clown frog fall in this category? If not, could you point me towards one that might handle the smaller diet easier?
Thanks you all so much.
My clowns prefer Drosophila hydei or melanogaster. I also feed them bean weevils and small crickets (which they love more than the first two mentioned)
So I would be ok sticking with the Melangostar as a staple diet? How many flies am I looking at feeding to each these guys every other day?
As far as the amount is concerned, you will have to feel it out. Hydei will be better than melanogaster.
I just got 2 Clown tree frogs and I am trying to find out what else can I feed them besides crickets. I also have red eyes tree frogs and I don't know what else I can feed them either. I was told they wont eat any kind of worms because they don't move as much as a crickets. I am trying to stick with the ones that red eye tree frogs and clown tree frogs eat the same thing so it makes it easier to care for the worms and crickets and what ever else they can eat.
