My frog completely buried himself after a large meal. Is he aestivating?
No, sounds like he's doing what Pacmans do.
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
I found out that he was aestivating. My temperature was too low and he started to aestivate. Then I changed the light bulb and he came back out.
Find out? How? Your frog was probably just chilling out and resting underground.

Normally they would attempt to aestivate when substrate is too dry, temps are too hot and generally they do this during the dry season. Your frog was probably resting after a long meal, it's normal for them to bury themselves.
If you frog does not come out for 2 weeks or more, then it is trying to aestivate; other than that you just woke up your frog for no reason lol.
Ugh!! Aestivation is the "DRY" season hibernation period. The frog is not aestivating just because it completely burrowed down. This is normal Pacman behavior. Aestivation is sparked by a gradule drying of the enclosure and cooling of the temps over a period of two weeks or so. The only way to "find out" that the frog is Aestivating is if you didn't maintain all proper climate specs and the frog covered itself in several layers of mucus and skin like a cocoon. This is called an epithelial sack. I doubt your frog was aestivating. This is more like resting or hiding.
I do know that aestivation is rather dry. But the position that he was laying seemed different. He had his arms over his head and his eyes closed.
No vocalization, I saw heartbeat, not sure about breathing. He moved around i his burrow and his eyes popped out if the ground after i accidentally bumped into the enclosure

He's just resting. He will most likely emerge later tonight.
Ever eat so much that you need to take a nap? Its the same thing kinda.
My frog lunchbox is doing the same thing! I thought I had him too cold and was about to change the lights to something with a little more umph! Still no poop also for those keeping track.
