I set up my vivarium a while ago and added water. There are no frogs in the vivarium currently.A lot of the water has evaporated now, but there's some weird clear jelly-like substance on the surface of the water. Is it safe, or should I remove it?
Jelly like substance could be a result of bacterial growth feeding off organic matter. Why let water evaporate? Need more information describing your vivarium (when set-up, what type, what it contains, etc.) and a picture of it to figure out what is going on.
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
It was set up 3-4 weeks ago. It's the half-water-half-land kind, but it's more 60% water and 40% land. The land part has one inch of gravel and two inches of eco earth, and the water side has an inch of gravel and a large rock that acts as a ramp so the frogs can climb out. The only live things in it so far are two philodendron plants that were added today. I let the water evaporate because I added it when I first set it up out of impatience and excitement, but since I don't have any frogs for now I decided to let it evaporate. I'll provide a picture, but the jelly-like substance probably won't show up.

Letting water evaporate probably had to do with it. Make sure any future frogs in there can't swallow the gravel (bad impaction risk).

So the jelly stuff is safe?
