Default Placing Springtails in a Vivarium

I just ordered some springtails, and I was wondering how I should place them in my vivarium. Do I just dump the contents of the bottle into the tank? Also, in the month I wait to get frogs, will the springtails require any care?

Usually getting the springtails in the terrarium is pretty easy, you can either dump all the contents in but I would prefer to add water and because springtails float, you can literally pour them into the terrarium.

thanks. so really you only need one culture and they will grow and reproduce themselves or need to put more in every few months?

Cinnamon how are your springtails coming along. I have figured out that I just keep putting a few cupfuls in every week or so. The frogs eat them up and I guess the rest go under the ground. So far things are going well and I still on my first culture. The carbon is starting to get dirty from the rice I put in for the springtail food so i will get new carbon and separate this culture to make another and then clean this carbon and repeat.

Not very well. I think I managed to kill them all. I haven't seen any since I put them in the vivarium, which was difficult. It's not easy using water to separate springtails from carbon when carbon floats too. At least you had more luck than me. It doesn't matter to me anymore because I'm upgrading my vivarium in a couple of months.
    No frogs currently!

Sorry to hear that. I do not see mine in the terrarium at all. Not sure if the frogs are eating them all or if they go under the moss and dirt. I am culturing them well in the tupperware though and put them a few small caps of them in every few days.

I am going to start doubling my cultures to see how I can do.

Depending on what type if frogs you have, you will need to keep a culture going to replenish the tank from time to time. Peepers, chorus frogs and darts all love springtails and will feast on them any chance they get.
