My frog got here as a tadpole with little back leg nubs. Its about 1 1/2 to 2 in at this point. Free from petsmart with a load of fish I got for some experimental gardening...
I live in California and am wondering, what kind of frog it may be?
as it grew legs then arms and I gave it a hyacinth to rest on, it started to try to hop and I put it in a small terrarium, about 2.5-5 gal with gravel, graded the floor and added water so part is submerged and part is not. There is also a glass tub holding h2o.
I got crickets, small ones and fed it some once its tail was nearly gone and they dissapeared?//eaten died drowned not sure
today about a week since the last crix i got another bag full i put 1 in and it was gone and the frog had moved, I gave it another and same thing, but I did not witness what actually happened.
I went to give it 2 more and it started jumping all over the place maniac frog maybe it got some energy from eating the crix
Im not sure how often to plan to feed and how much I should feed this frog at a time? I also have red wrigglers in my compost id try feeding it.
the frog is about 1.5in long and is a tan and brown coloring it looks similar to the tadoles and frogs I caught when I was younger, pacific tree type or something...
heres a picture of the frog if you can advise me on what kind it is and what style ecosystem it may want that would be great.
i can tell it is still a fragile baby and not an adult froggie yet. I will move it to a larger terrarium eventually seems okay as is now, it hasn't stuck to the glass like other frogs I have it spends most time in the water or half submerged on the rocks. thanks
oh wondering idea temps and lighting conditions direct light soft light humidity? is it okay in my bathroom?
its got some blobby leopard sots on its legs and Egyptian eye lined eyes.
bouncey frog
