This guy is currently at a pet store near me. He has a label below him that says "Pacman Frog", and then someone crossed that out with a sharpie and wrote "Fantasy Pacman". Is this correct? I'm just now starting to get interested in pacman frogs, but the images I normally see of fantasies seem to have lots of red in them.

yes, i think its fantasy..![]()
That one is being kept totally wrong.
Yeah...I don't have a frog yet, and I'm still reading a lot about them, but from what I've learned so far, I know his substrate is wrong. He shouldn't have moss and bark in his cage since they're such sloppy eaters. I kinda want to get him and make him my first frog, but their asking price is 80 USD, which seems high. I feel bad, but looking on kingsnake, I could order a frog for cheaper that comes from a reputable breeder instead of buying a frog of unknown origins locally. I'm torn, because he's a good looking frog :c
Honestly when it comes to my critters... I'm not overly concerned with how they look. My first priority is how healthy they are and what kind of vet bills I'd be looking at. Then what, or who, I'm supporting or helping by taking them in (adopting, buying from a breeder, buying from a pet store, buying from a shelter, etc)
But different strokes, different folks![]()
This guy looks to be in good health. Its all up to you. I got my Mojo from a local pet store. He! didn't have any heating or lighting. His substrate was like mud, water wasn't treated, and he was being fed 1 pinky a week. He was a juvenile, and I didn't know any better at the time. I'm very happy with my frog. He eats great and he has a great personality for as far as frogs go. What I'm saying is that even though that frog isn't being kept properly it could turn out to be an awesome frog. Oh and as for price... I paid 60 dollars for my brown c. cranwelli. They sell for about 15 dollars on the internet, and I feel no way ripped off.
that guy would have gone home with me right there lol, 80$ is a good price for green fantasy and that one looks very good. i would ask though on their heath guarantee, chances are you might be dealing with impaction soon, some stores would cover your vet visit and treatment if that happens within 2 week up to a month, so just something to look into.
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
I stopped by the petstore today to pick up a cage and some supplies and checked on this guy to see if he's still there. I peaked into his cage and for a moment thought it was a different frog! The grays he had on the picture above are now a brown-ish color. Is that normal?
