Hi there, I'm Brittany. Just under two days ago I found two baby frogs trying to climb up my garage door, my dad almost ran over them and they were fleeing..
Anyways, I looked up online how to take care of frogs and things like that, I put them in a big container with a few branches from a plant growing in my front yard that they just love to sleep on. I also put some dirt and a little cup with shallow water in it, it was raining outside when i found them so the dirt was moist and the branches were all wet so its pretty steamy in the container. And of course i made air holes and whatnot for them..
SO, yesterday morning my dad took me to the pet store and we got the smallest crickets they had and I put them in the container with the frogs.. Immediately my one frog went and tried to eat one, but these frogs are, as you might see, at least the size of a nickel.. so the crickets were alittle too big and hopped right out of my frogs mouth, or they were just too big and he spit them out..
What I need help with is the following A: What type of frogs are these? I looked them up and I Think they are eastern grey frogs? I'm not exactly sure.. and B: What should I feed them since they are so little? Should I go back to the pet store and ask if they have smaller crickets? Should I just free the frogs? I read online that if they dont try to eat in 3 days that I should set them free, but they are trying... And I feel like they will die out there ..! And I named them
Any help is much appreciated, to me they seem very skinny but I dont know how to tell or not.. I attached some photos of them and hopefully someone will help me
