    Default Bullfrog enclosure size?

How much space would one need to keep an adult American bullfrog? I found a little one at my dad's friend's swimming pool and I decided to get the little guy out of the pool water. I gotta say I'm getting attached to him/her and I thought I might keep it. Any thoughts, questions, comments?

Hi Brett ! It depends on the adult size, but roughly a feet tank length per in. of frog will get you an idea. So if it maxes out at 4 in. that would be a 55 gallon tank, etc. They usually are kept in dry/wet set-ups around 1/4 to 1/3 dry rate and the rest water. How big is your baby now?
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !

He's about an inch and a half SVL. I currently have him in a tub thingy equivalent to a 10-15 gallon tank.

That is fine for now. Know of members that keep them in covered outdoors kiddie pools (weather permitting). Think FF member Caspian has them inside in tanks and is experienced with them.

I was thinking of maybe going the kiddie pool route. This thing is friggin' RAVENOUS. Like it probably has an appetite comparable to my Budgett/Pacman, with an even more explosive feeding response.

    Default Bullfrog enclosure size?

Bullfrogs can grow quite large. Most will grow to be 4-8". I would recommend a final tank size of 55-100 us gallons for an adult. My Bully is 5+" now and a 75 just fits him. They like land with a pond. They love to swim.

Be careful with a home without a lid because they can jump 3-6ft without difficulty . One time I was cleaning his tank and had the lid off and he jumped out of his old 55 and onto my couch. Whoopsie! I also have clips on the screen lid sides. They are strong .

    Yes, they eat well .
