Hi Elizabeth! Was born in P.R. and raised in Caparra Heights near Puerto Nuevo. They were very common in the small mount (formerly a U.S. military facility) behind the Borinquen Towers (talking about the 1960's). Could find P.R. Boas (Epicrates inornatus) in there too. We called them iguanas and the males where pretty large and had a lovely bluish color. When I went to college in Mayaguez, captured an introduced Green Iguana baby and kept it as a pet for a while.
