    Congratulations. You ( and your frog ) have been through so much.
    I hope they are gone for GOOD and never come back.

    There is nothing wrong with paper towel substrate.
    He won't care--he's just going down to soak and crab his food.
    ( I don't have soil substrate in my tree frog enclosures either )

    To start with I would suggest looking through some members albums as there are so many great ideas.

    What size enclosure is he in?
    What do you have so far?
    Like you said - do what pleases you.
