Don't be concerned. The first 'bloom' is usually the largest.
They will cycle on and off, depleting the 'new' food source; then the population will stabilize.

I used to have a huge colony of springtails in my toad's old ten gallon. They were annoying to my toad. They would always crawl on her, crawl on her worms in her food dish, and get in her water. I moved my toad to a 20 gallon and it doesn't seem like the springtails follow. But, whatever, it appears that they are good.
