Both male and female White's can croak, so that's not always a reliable method of sexing, but if there is a spot of brown coloration on the "thumb", that is an indicator that you have a male. Males throats generally also 'inflate' when calling, and generally call for longer periods of time than females.

Agreed.

However females only croak in response to the males calling or danger calls. A lone female will only call if in danger.
