Some will disagree with that size, however I do not. I kept an adult male nearly the size of my hand in a ten gallon with pothos ivy and a branch for quite some time. It will all depend on how you set it up and so on. You will want vertical climbing area such as a long driftwood or cork tube and some ivy or other viv plant. I fed mine a few times a week on large crickets and you should dust every other feeding or so. I kept a medium sized water dish inside also for him to have a soak once in a while and misted every couple of days as well.

    Hope this helps!

Alternate the dusting. So that you go like calcium this feeding, vitamins next feeding then no dusting the next feeding.

Happy to hear you're going bigger for the WTF, plus you could put a second one in also. A frog can survive in a small tank, but are they thriving & happy, big difference. I have three in the Exo Terra 36 x 36 x 18 and they use every bit of space.

Yeah I never planned to use the 12x12x18 as a forever setup. I found a brand new one for 25 bucks so I got it until I get the money for the bigger exo terra. And I planned to get a 2nd blue dumpy as well. Im trying to find a female blue whites tree frog next

Gail is 100% right. They will use all the space they are allotted. Gail gives them EXTRA space which is a perfect amount to give them that "FREEDOM" walk haha. You will be ok with the next size down 18x18x24.

Well I actually found a 18x18x24 zoomed with a bunch of fake plants, a real plant, a large water dish for $100 Hes getting a upgrade sooner then I thought haha. And I have the 12x12x18 as a quaraentine tank when im able to get my 2nd dumpy!

Ok make sure you bleach out that tank... 1-2 capfuls of bleach for one gallon of tap water..RINSE IT OUT SUPER WELL WITH HOT WATER! If you can still smell bleach in the tank..there is still a residue that will kill your frog....but this needs to be done to be considered a QUARANTINE tank. Im happy you found a tank =)

You can use vinegar instead and it will not hurt the frogs if you do not manage to get it all out.
