Without my heat lamp I have temps around 72-75 all day and night, the humidity fluctuates from 65-75. With the heat lamp the temps go up to 85 in the day and the humidity drops to 45-50%. So which is more desirable? Misting seems to do very little, except for maybe the first 10 minutes.
I'm no expert, but as no one else has answered yet, I'll give it a shot. I don't know what kind of frogs you have (and even if I did, I probably wouldn't know their specific needs), but I may be able to help with humidity. When I first got my frogs, I was misting probably 10-20 times a day to keep the humidity above 60%. After a few days of this, I covered 2/3 of their lid with a thin cloth. I wet the cloth with declorinated water usually once a day (sometimes twice), and now easily maintain about 78-80% humidity. Once, I actually had to remove the cloth for about an hour because the humidity climbed up to about 90%! I am using a flour sack towel, but any sort of thin cotton cloth should do the trick. I've been doing this for close to two months, and it seems to be working very well. I keep 1/3 of the tank uncovered so they have decent ventilation. Anyway, I don't know your specific needs, but I hope this helps.
