Currently, I have two fire belly toads with a dry setting. I would love to switch to a mostly aquatic tank but don't know where to start. I would love ideas or pictures from you all. Thank you so much![]()
Here are a couple pics of my setup. Though it has changed slightly (since pictures were taken) the overall layout is still the same...
This is my current set up in used a plastic tub for the water area and packed coco fiber all around it. Then used drift wood and rocks to create shallow areas and spots to climb out.

Matt - using the plastic tub, as the water area... is a pretty genius idea. if i ever go back to a large portion of water. or if i upgrade my firebelly tank, to being a larger tank. i will consider this idea! (right now, my two have 2 bowls)
when my tank was mostly aquatic... i would fill one corner of the tank, with small - medium polished stones. that went up about 1/2 the size of the tank, and i would smash the top of the "mountain" down into a flat surface. which would then be used to support stacking stones, to provide a hiding location, and a great place for feeding. then i would add the water to the other side of the tank. about 3 - 4 inches high. with broken up plastic plants (i usually use fish tank plants, as they are cheaper), and they were used to float around in the water to provide.. not only hiding spaces. but things to grab onto when necessary. there was no need to provide them with an additional way to get out of the water, because the slant from the stones, does this.
i really liked my set up when it was like that. i just got sick of always having a lot of running filters in my room. so i changed it.
