Default Help! Where can he go??

Last night, my boyfriend and I noticed a little something hopping around our entry way. We picked him up to save him from the dog and put him in a little terrarium while we tried to find out exactly what he was.

He appears to be a young male Pacific Tree Frog, about an inch long. We have no idea how he got into our apartment, let alone our fenced yard. There are a few dried up streams nearby, but our neighbors just brought in some water reeds and we assume he hitched a ride and made it into our yard somehow.

We knew enough about frogs to know he needed some sort of shelter, so we put in a few fake leaves and a fake half log and spritzed the aquarium with dechlorinated water. We have a turtle, so out of desperation and lack of proper frog food, I dropped a few little tabs of turtle food in there (it says turtles and frogs on the food..?) and he appeared to eat about half.

We wanted to wait until tonight to release him, rather than do it during the day, to give him the best chance possible. We wandered around looking for any area where the streams might still be running, and couldn't find anywhere. My boyfriend got impatient with my bleeding heart need to save all the animals and wants to just toss him in the yard where he came from. From what I've seen, they need a water source to live near, and I feel certain that I'll find a tiny little baby frog corpse in the yard if we just release him out there.

    What do I do?? :[

I'm surprised that he ate the turtle food.. But the best thing would be to find some water to release him around. Can you find any ponds? Maybe google maps would help you find one.

I didn't even think of Google maps! There's what appears to be a lake about a mile away. Thanks!

Not a problem! I hope he finds a nice new home!
