Breeding related question

I've got a question that's related to both breeding and husbandry. Seeing as ABF's have historically been difficult to breed in captivity, is it remotely possible that this means something isn't quite right with the generally accepted care methods? Or does husbandry not really correlate to breeding success in this case?

it is one of these species that is difficult to reproduce exact yearly cycle and natural breeding environment, thus it is difficult to get them breeding in captivity.
there are difference in husbandry when keeping these frogs as a pets and when you want to breed them, same as many other frog species actually.
