After doing so many tanks for office and clients...i finally had the chance to get one for my own...
I dunno whats the gallon-age for this tank but its an Exoterra
Its 2ft long and 3ft tall...i have always wanted one of this...so got one and found that it was defective at the doorsdepressed i complained and they were kind enough to reimburse me...
Good part is that they had another defective tank of similar dimensions...so i thought...what the heck...might as well get them both
Who cares if it is a bit twisted at the top when i can have 2
I've been spending around 3 months to get it functioning and finally last Sunday...the waterfeature was operational...
Wanted to use LED lights for lighting to cut down on the heat but the suppliers here refused to bring in the ones that we usually use for indoor plants
So i slapped on a quad HOT5 light for aquarium ...well the best that i can get over here...daily temperature shot up to 32C ...i guess i should expect that to be good for tropical country...
So now i have 2 fans slapped into the modified exoterra tank top...1 to push air into the tank for ventilation and the other to suck out air...still experimenting with this as i have never used fans...still learning to use more accesories required for tank building.
Also made a hole for the fog maker later on...
Well...here is my little tub of bromeliads
Almost done...realised that the bedding is sucking up too much water so i'm gonna modify it abit when im done with the wiring...
No misters yet...no stock
or money...i'm broke after this tank
I call it the Tiger Tankfor the Neo. Carcharodon Tiger in the tank with some Neo tigrinas and Neo Tiger Cub...
It will house my current two lil Dendro auratus super blue...until when the ban lifts and i can get some Bastimentos in there...
Still tinkering with this...
looks cool, nice work. thats alot of bromeliads, must have been pricey
Yeah...cost me alot on those broms...close to 900 bux on them...the tiger itself took 100 already
But i hope the frogs like it there...
I cant seem to get the tank to cool down though...its peaking at 30C
I have one fan sucking air out from a 1cm diameter hole and another fan pushing air into the tank from the same diameter hole
I am guessing its too slow
Planning to change it to LED lights...
Anyways tanks been running a week now...the only thing that went poof is the fern...the heat built up killed it i guess...tank temp is showing at 34C
The frogs havent gone in yet until i get the tank stabilized
That's odd- really warm? Are you sure you thermometer is right? Maybe use a back -up thermometer?
Stick a glass aquarium thermometer in the substrate? $3.00 at a pet shop.
Run a fan - pointed toward the front vents and see what happens?
It looks great !
It's a good idea to change the lights out.
I use standard base plant bulbs in the winter ( which give off a little heat) and LED as the weather gets warmer.
My exos have the screens pulled ( replaced w/ glass ) and no other ventilation beside the plug/cord slots and the front vents.
They are in my basement. I have never seen a the temp > 80F. If it's looks like they might go above > 78 I simply run an oscillating fan ,suspended from the ceiling, pointed toward the front vents. Works like a charm.
But - my tanks are in my basement - so it really doesn't matter what things look like. It's just us,the frogs, and the cats.
Keep us posted - very nicely done - congratulations ! Enjoy it!

I do have 2 fans running air into and out of the tank...but its fixed to the top of the tank...
Now i even have a cooler fan blowing at the tank
Thought of letting the auratus into their new home...but was afraid they'd be barbequed
That's a crazy awesome tank you have. Got your frogs from the Frog Shop down in PJ by any chance? The ban on CITES species is a real bummer. 34c is crazy high, where did you place the tank? Even my Pacman tank doesn't go up that high on a hot afternoon in Penang.

Research each species before acquisition, and then acquire only those that you can care for adequately and with relative ease." - Richard Bartlett
