Hey,
I just found what it appears to be white feces twice( one in the morning and another one now) from my baby pixie. Is this normal? I dusted last night though but never seen this happen.
Could it be vomit? I'm feeding pieces of night crawlers and well they both have the same shape. Is it normal for a frog to poop multiple times in the same day and White?
urates?
Urates? I will try to take a pic and post it. Normally all poops have been dark. I don't know if it could be a coincidence since I dusted last night.
With reptiles they produce crystallized urine which is called "urates". I'm not sure if its the same with amphibians though. I don't belive it is.
You need to post some pics of this. In most cases discolored feces mean infection or parasites, but sometimes frogs produce excess mucus which isnwhite when normal and oddly colored when caused by infection.

Oh man I hope its not something bad. He did three pieces yesterday at different times. One overnight that was dark, one in the morning that was white and another in the evening that was white as well....instead of the usual large feces.
I did dust the night before he did this. I normally dust every food item and I could say I dusted a lot. His behavior is normal as of now, he is burrowing sometimes and goes in his water as well. Very active baby and he's been eating every night a LOT.
Could dusting cause this? I will keep you posted Colleen/Jerrod and will take a picture if it happens again. I examined it with a ear swab and it did look like poop, fully digested and but it was the same color just like the Ca powder.
Daytime they are around 82-83F and night time 77-78F. Humidity always around 75-80%. The color was like white chalk.
Another observation is that I believe he did a small one last Tuesday when I first got him but it was dark. They sent him to me in a deli cup with moss. Could this have lead to white feces?
temps/humidity are good. to poop multiple times is normal for some fast growing babies. Coloring might be due to dust you use if you use tons of it, you need just to coat food slightly. how does poop look like? you gotta use dust every second feeding, how poop like after it eats non dusted food?
at any rate if something would have been wrong it won't be eating a LOT as you're sayingbut i'd rather make sure there is actually nothing wrong.
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
Maybe that was the problem...I usually don't coat slightly, I think I might have overcoated. Feces had a normal shape, it was just the color that was different. I examined it with an ear swab and it did not have any worms or anything abnormal at plain sight. I hope it was overdusting but will for sure take a picture if it happens again.
