Default Is this Vivarium adequate for Phyllobates Vittatus?

    Hey there,
I recently put together this 20g long tank with some basics, such as a mopani wood centerpiece, two large bromiliads, and various tropical plants. ( I didn't make a background because the only kind my parents would let my do was clay, and I already have a hard time keeping humidity at 80%-90%). I really like the Phyllobates Vittatus, and I've done lots of research on them, but I can't make a water feature because I don't have a background . I should also mention that I plan on breeding them, so would they even breed without running water? Thanks in advance,

    Nathan.

(I have a nice Exo Terra UVB light, it just isn't in the pics)

Hi Nathan! If you can't keep the humidity up because of clay background, will have issues with desired frogs. Have you read a care sheet for them? Recommend covering all sides but front glass for all frog species .
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !

Simply paint the back and sides black or a dark color. I do that with all my set ups with or without a background. The size of that tank is fine for a pair. It appears to have a glass top? If so your humidity should stabilize and remain plenty high enough for them. Most breeders do not have backgrounds in the tanks do to space and time to do each tank. Although backgrounds are great, they are not needed.
