I wish I had spotted this thread earlier! Bully looks great, Heather! He's quite a plump, big frog, but I think Gnag's catching up fast
as of 2 weeks ago Gnag is now over 4 inches snout to vent, and Bumpy is 3.5!
Excuse my bad photography, I'm notoriously bad at taking photos!
My Amphibians:
1.0.0 Rana Catesbiana (Bumpy Digtoad )
1.0.0 Pseudacris Regilla (Levi )
1.1.0 Ambystoma Macrodactylum (Urtham and Gargan )
2.2.0 Bombina Orientalis ( Rosa, Sasha, Aleksis, and Dimitri )
Rest in Peace, Gnag the Nameless, Chrome, and Thermidor
They're all doing good. Gnag's eating fine and like his usual self, and I just recently found out Gnag is a male due to the beginning of the breeding season, and solidified the suspicion that Bumpy is a Bullfrog, not a Green frog. He does have a slight ridge down his back, and before seemed like a Green frog, but after hearing his calling and seeing him mature it is now solid he is a bullfrog.
As for hearing Gnag calling, I love it - but it is loud. My family (luckily) enjoy both the sound of the crickets and of Gnag and Bumpy croaking at night, although are truly impressed by both Gnag's size and the calls the pair of them produce. It's funny, they'll try and croak over the other, and often make little barks (they're in separate tanks), as if arguing.
As for the Chorus frogs and Sals, they're all doing fine and eating properly. The room they are all in is staying quite cool, which is good.
How are your frogs? Oh, and I love your photo of you giving Bully a "high-four"![]()

That's awesome!Bullies sure are loud
. I love it though. It's got to be entertaining listening to them go back and forth. I swear Bully could vibrate the whole living room if he wanted too, lol!
I'm glad to hear they are both doing well and your others too.
Bully is well, stubborn, but well. The rest of the critters are good too. I lost a red eye a while back to intestinal cancer, bless her little heart
. She passed in my hands one night when I took her out of her home to feed her. I knew it was coming, though in denial. I am okay with it now because she is at peace. Sad though.
I currently have 12 frogs and a new baby on the way (thanks, Lynn!). I only intend to have one more baby to go with the new baby and then I'm done for awhile. Lots of work, but of course, I love them all
.
So, for now my job is to help and teach others here and enjoy the critters I already have.

Well, it'll start out with Gnag or Bumpy croaking, and then one will bark at the other to stop (they make a "RUP!" kind of noise when they bark). They typically bark at each other a couple of times, and then begin calling with their "RUM! RUM! RUM!" again. It'll get louder and louder, and in the brief moments they stop they'll bark at each other again, then continue to call. This whole process can last from 5 minutes to over half an hour. I must admit, it is very entertaining to listen to, but Gnag is always very aggressive afterwards, and Bumpy actually seems almost fearless after.
Thanks! I'm glad they're well too.
Bumpy's as skittish as ever but doing very well and Gnag's as aggressive and "I'm the boss! You don't mess with me!" kind of attitudeI've been forced to hold off on regular water changes at times because Gnag is just feeling too aggressive
I'm sorry to hear about your Red Eyemy little Red Legged froglet passed in my hands, too, so I know how you feel.
I currently have the 2 Bullies (if I hadn't mentioned, I solidifed the fact Bumpy is a bullfrog,) the two little cheeky Chorus frogs, and the alien Salamanders. I haven't been as active on the FF as much as I used to, but I still check it daily. I hope to become a bit more active on here, but the summer keeps me busy most of the time.

Both my older bullfrogs are girls. I have one little boy. But he doesn't call loudly yet. I can't wait though. My green frogs call a lot and I love listening to them. My mom always asks me how I can possibly sleep with all that noise! I like it so it doesn't bother me.
My normal bullfrog, Kermit (we never changed her name lol) is around 6" now and very fat. She is much bigger than my albino, Lilly even though she's a year younger. Lilly is still only 3". I think Lilly hasn't grown as much because she was so sick at one point (nearly died). She is better now and much fatter. But hasn't grown much.
Do you guys have new pictures?

Lovely B&W pics Heather!
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
I'll have to take some. I don't usually take pictures of the bullies. Especially Lilly. She freaks out way to much. But I might be able to ninja a picture of her. I have a picture of Kermit that I took with my phone. But it is horribly blurry and dull!

I'll have to get some better pictures and update my own bullfrog thread.
Thanks.
